Digital Marketing
Plan and measure digital marketing campaigns across channels.
A self-paced virtual internship covering the core channels of digital marketing - SEO, social media, paid ads, email and analytics - ending with a digital marketing plan you prepare as your capstone project.
Businesses of every size now reach customers online, through search engines, social media, email and paid advertising. The Digital Marketing Fundamentals Internship is a self-paced virtual internship that explains how these channels work, how they fit together and how their results are measured.
The program is organised into four modules. You start with marketing basics, buyer personas and the customer journey, then learn search engine optimisation and content marketing. Next you study social media marketing and paid advertising, including pay-per-click concepts such as CPC, CTR and Quality Score. The final module covers email marketing, web analytics and key performance indicators. Each module has written study material with clear definitions and examples, followed by a timed online exam that checks your understanding.
In Module 4 you receive a capstone project brief: a digital marketing plan for a small business of your choice, covering goals, audience, channels, content and measurement. It gives you a practical document you can add to your portfolio. When you pass the module exams, you receive a QR-verifiable internship certificate that records your internship period.
This internship is open to beginners from any academic background. No prior marketing experience is required; you need basic computer and internet skills and a willingness to explore common online tools.

This is a self-paced virtual internship. You learn the fundamentals of digital marketing through four modules of study material, check your progress with an online exam after each module, and apply what you learn in a capstone marketing plan.
In Module 4 you prepare a digital marketing plan for a real or imagined small business. The plan defines SMART goals, a buyer persona, target keywords, a one-month social media and content calendar, an email campaign outline and the KPIs you would track. You submit the plan as a PDF or slide document.
After you meet the exam requirements, you receive a digital internship certificate in Digital Marketing Fundamentals that shows your name, the program and your internship period. Each certificate carries a unique number and a QR code, so a college or employer can confirm it on the DataSquare Solutions verification page. This is a self-paced virtual internship: it does not include live mentoring, and it is not a job or placement offer.
The study material is designed for about 40 hours of learning. Your internship period depends on the duration option you choose at enrollment, and you can study at your own pace within that period.
No. The internship starts with marketing basics and explains every term it uses. Basic computer and internet skills are enough to begin.
Each module has a timed online multiple-choice exam that you need to pass with at least 60%. You get 2 free attempts per module, and extra attempts can be purchased if you need them.
Once you pass all four modules with an overall average of at least 70%, you receive an internship certificate that shows your internship period. Anyone can verify it online by scanning its QR code or entering the certificate number.
The capstone is a digital marketing plan for a small business, described in Module 4. You prepare it yourself, covering goals, audience, SEO keywords, social and content calendar, email and KPIs, and you can keep it as a portfolio document.
